The Open Door Ministry is an outreach of the Missouri United Methodist Church in Columbia.  For information on this group visit this link.

Open Door Ministry meetings are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month in Room 202 - second floor , south end - at Missouri United Methodist Church, 204 S. Ninth St.

Open Door Ministry

The Open Door Ministry was established by parents of gay children and others interested in educating members of the congregation about the realities encountered by families with gay children and in diminishing prejudice against homosexual persons. Participants are seeking to minister to the needs of gays and lesbians and their families and friends.

This group meets the 1st Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in room 202. For more information on this subject we offer an extensive list of web sites you can review, a collection of recommended books, places to search for and find material, and a handful of other organizations you may find helpful in the Resources section of our Web site.

Columbia/Mid-Missouri Chapter:

Monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month
PFLAG Columbia/Mid-Missouri Chapter is now meeting in a new location:
Missouri United Methodist Church
Room 302, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

PFLAG is non-sectarian, non-denominational and is not affiliated with any religious institution. see policies.

OUR MISSION:
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG)
promotes the health and well being of gay, lesbian, bisexual,
and transgendered persons, their families, and their friends through:

SUPPORT to cope with an adverse society.
EDUCATION  to enlighten an ill-informed public.
ADVOCACY to end discrimination and secure equal civil rights.

PFLAG provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation
and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and
respectful of human diversity.
